"It was a pleasure to have author and re-enactor Bryce Chandler visit the Germantown Regional History and Genealogy Center. I discovered that this young man is resourceful, talented, and engaging. Bryce presented a re-enactment of the life of a Civil War drummer boy, including Civil War songs on the fife and marches on a home-made drum. A few weeks after Bryce's appearance, one library patron shared that his 5-year old grandson was so impressed, that he still carries around his copy of Bryce's book everywhere he goes, and talks about being able to play the drum.
